Mission

This "Catholic Marriage Petition" is a nationwide grassroots effort to focus attention on the largely-ignored "threat" posed by this country's system of No-Fault Divorce Laws, which give civil authorities unbridled power over marriage and families - even marriages that were solemnized in the Church. We, the petitioners, ask our U.S. Bishops to defend our marriages against this threat by re-claiming authority over Catholic marriages.

While our efforts – at this time – are not endorsed by any organization or member of the clergy, we hope this will change. We look forward to receiving support and encouragment from members of the clergy, other organizations, and the laity.

We will mail a copy of the Petition, along with the list of signatories from their Diocese, to each bishop in the United States. You can help defray the costs of this project (web hosting, mailing costs, etc.), by making a donation. Our goal is to raise $3,500.

Thank you - we appreciate any help you can provide.

If you would like to sign the Petition, we will list your Name, Affiliation, Diocese, and State on the Signers page of this web site, unless you have checked the "No" box on the Petition, in which case, your information will remain 'private' within our database. We ask that you also provide us with your email address – which will not be sold, given out, or displayed – in order to verify your information if necessary. If you are NOT a Catholic but would like to offer support for this project, you are also welcome to sign. In the "Diocese" box, just enter "N/A" or "Not Catholic".

We will provide you with an update, from time to time, about the progress of this project, as well as any media coverage we receive, so please check back often.

Thank you for your interest in this project.
